Music Theory Lessons

Music theory and history lessons are offered to students ages 15 to adult. No previous musical training is necessary, and you do not have to know how to read music to begin taking lessons. Lessons are held in my home studio on South Ironwood in South Bend, IN.

As a music theory instructor, I structure lessons around the specific goals of each individual student. Topics may include note reading, rhythms, formal analysis, counterpoint, music history, music literature, rhythmic/melodic dictation, and composition.  Preparation for the AP Music Theory test is available.

Lessons are 45-minutes, held weekly, and are paid in advance. 

Monthly Tuition:

45-minute lessons: $75

During the summer, a series of weekly music theory workshops will be offered. This page will be updated with the exact schedule once it is finalized.

For short-term study, individually priced lessons are available on a limited schedule.  Please contact me for details and pricing.

To begin study, I require a free, no-obligation interview/audition.  This allows you to see if lessons in my studio will be a good fit for you and your goals.  Acceptance into my studio is not based on natural talent, but on motivation, eagerness, openness to teacher's suggestions, musical potential, and attitude.  Please contact me by phone or email to set up this initial meeting or ask any questions you may have.
