Piano Lessons

Piano lessons are offered to beginning students from ages 4 through adults. No previous musical training is necessary, and students will gradually learn how to read music.

Many students will benefit from studying piano before starting another instrument.  They will learn the fundamentals of music and be more prepared to enter an elementary school band or orchestra than their peers.

I always encourage students who are interested in studying the harp to begin piano lessons as well. The two instruments reinforce each other, and musical concepts transfer between the two.  One year of piano study is required before students ages five through seven may begin harp lessons.

All students must have an acoustic piano or full-size digital piano (not a keyboard) at home on which they can practice. Pianos can be purchased or rented from many area music stores.

Lessons are held weekly in my home studio on South Ironwood in South Bend, Indiana.

Monthly Tuition:
45-minute lessons: $89
60-minute lessons:  $119

Tuition is paid at the first lesson of each month, January through November.  No tuition payment is due in December.

To begin study, I require a free, no-obligation interview/audition.  This allows you to see if lessons in my studio will be a good fit for you and your goals.  You do not have to have anything prepared to perform for this brief interview.

Acceptance into my studio is not based on talent, but on motivation, eagerness, openness to teacher's suggestions, musical potential, and attitude.  Please contact me by phone or email to set up this initial meeting or ask any questions you may have.
