Group Harp Classes

Group harp classes are offered to students from ages 10 through adults. No previous musical training is necessary, and you do not have to know how to read music to enroll. Students ages six through nine may enroll if they have completed one year of private piano instruction with any teacher.  Classes are held in my home studio on South Ironwood in South Bend, IN.

All students must have a harp at home on which they can practice.  A limited number of lever harps are available for student rentals. These are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Additional rental harps are available from other sources.  Please see my harp information links for harp rental companies and retail outlets.  All required music is included in the class fee.

Class topics include:

Basic music reading, technique (exercises), rhythm, playing by ear, and application of skills to performance of selected music.

Classes meet weekly one hour, and each session lasts for eight weeks. 

Class fee:  $80

Harp rental: $50 per session; $75 refundable security deposit  

Students may also use their own harps.  They must have at least one octave of strings below middle C, as well as levers on all C, F, and B strings.  Pedal harps may also be used.  Students are responsible for transporting their harps to and from my studio for each weekly session.
